The DV210AEW dryer measures 30-1/4" deep; 49" deep with the door open 90-degrees. The amount of clearance needed behind the unit depends on which of the four ways you intend to set up the vent duct: back, bottom, left or right. If you vent out the back, which is the factory default, then you would need about 5" of clearance. It's also very important to have ample air circulation, and I would suggest you consult the User Manual, which can be downloaded from Samsung's website, for information on installing your dryer in an alcove or closet, since your mudroom may have similar restrictions. Stacking the dryer will not necessarily help you with your space constraints unless this method somehow enables more space behind the unit, since Samsung's stacked dryers overhang the back of the washers by 5". The clearance requirements of the washing machine are far less stringent, so if you're able to accommodate the dryer's needs, the washer should not pose a problem. Thank you for considering Samsung! - Ms. Samsung
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. We have our unit in a large closet area. The washer shakes the house and the dryer is overheating and not shutting off properly. The book doesn't really give sizing guidelines. It says don't use as a built in. When I call I get answers like unplug it for a while and don't use dryer sheets.
