Of course, it can also be vented out the rear (which is the factory default) or through the bottom. If venting through the bottom or left side you'll need the DV-1A vent kit to make the conversion from rear-venting.

A:AnswerInstallation is "Free" if you pay for the hookups and a new duct. I had purchased a three foot section, and only needed a foot of it fifteen years ago. I dug up the two remaining feet and cut another foot off. DO NOT USE PLASTIC FLEXIBLE dryer vent. Metal or semi-rigid only.
