How long is the "wrinkle-free cycle" supposed to be? I believe the dryer is supposed to turn off by itself but mine keeps on running on the wrinkle-free cycle for a while. I ended up opening the door to check if clothes were dried once I opened the door then the dryer turned itself off.

If you have wrinkle prevent turned on, the dryer will periodically tumble the clothes until you open the door to remove them in order to prevent them from wrinkling.

Wrinkle Free is just to keep the clothes from sitting after the normal drying cycle has ended. It itself is not a cycle. It should keep going until you open the door and turn off.

Thanks for the question, Bluesky. The Wrinkle Release and Wrinkle Away are timed dry cycles and should run for the length of time you select. The Wrinkle Prevent option, however, provides approximately 180 minutes of intermittent tumbling in unheated air at the end of the cycle to reduce wrinkling. You can press the Wrinkle Prevent button on the control panel to activate or deactivate this feature. - Ms. Samsung

This is an annoying, unnecessary feature. If you run the dryer and go to bed, the periodic wrinkle prevention feature will turn itself on and off all night long waking everyone up in the house each time until someone GETS UP and turns the dryer off. (2nd floor laundry room). There is zero difference in the clothes if you let it run on and off all night or leave the clothes sitting in the dryer all night. There is no obvious way to disconnect so you either don't do an extra load of laundry at night or get up and turn the thing off. That's better than the constantly moldy front door seal on the washer though. Waiting for manufacturers to catch up with their own technology.

It will toss the clothes around until you open the door to take them out. I accidentally went to work and didn't know this feature was turned on and had been running all day. Essentially, every 15 minutes or so the dryer kicks on and tosses the clothes around for about a minute.

Consult your specific manual for how long the cycle goes. My Samsung dryer shows a rectangle of lights (like dashes running around a track) that are on while in the Wrinkle Prevent cycle, with no minutes shown. The dryer turns on intermittently until I take out the clothes. At the point I open the door to take out my sheets and clothes, it "sings" an extended tune, happily ending the cycle! I love this feature, as oppsed to just doing a load with any set time. If I forget that load and come back later, the condition of my clothes correlates with my face: Wrinkles have set in, and there ain't no fixing that!

The wrinkle-free cycle will pause, then restart so items won't wrinkle. The timer no longer shows the minutes when the load is dry, but will continue for a few minutes on cool, thankfully!

there are chimes when the normal cycle ends if you get your clothes then it will shut off, but it will keep the wrinkle free setting going if you don't get clothes when done
