I found the solution finally! After over a year of having this dryer I finally got around to finding the problem. When I lifted up the dryer there was a thin metal circle shaped panel that was held on by a screw, This does not appear to cover any holes at all it just rotates and pivots in a circular motion around the screw. In all honesty I have no idea why this piece is even on there. I ran the dryer, lifted it up and rotated this piece of metal around as it was vibrating and jiggling, rotated it until it stopped rattling, set the dryer back on the floor and no problem is solved! Literally it was something so stupid I could have solved it over a year ago I kept moving the dryer around and looking for lose parts but it was just a piece of metal on the bottom that seems to serve no purpose but to rotate around on a screw. Problem now solved! So If you have one of these dryers and you get the rattle of metal when running it, try to lift the unit up and check underneath for any lose metal pieces.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine is super quiet, all of the time. From start up and throughout the cycle. It has been this way since day one.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a whirlpool dryer with the same problem.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. What I believe it might be the heating coil that is rattling, I do not know honestly what it is but it happens on startup and lasts a few minutes of rattling around and like I said it might be the heating coil, I don't know if it does that for others when the unit is heating up but after the cycle has been on for a few minutes it does not make any noises.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Mine has always been quiet...
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Log on to amazon and search for sound isolating pads or vibration isolation pads. They minimize the amount of sound that travels through the ground. It will also reduce the amount of sound the machine makes when in use. Rule of thumb... always believe 50% of what the store/company's representative tells you. That includes sales reps and installers.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Thank you for the reply. it is the dryer only that makes these sounds and only when initially starting and running, eventually it seems to settle down, but it sounds like something rattling. Maybe it is the belt driven motor like you said. But it sounds like something bouncing around or rattling. I would hope it is something that Samsung can inspect as it has been happening since it was bought in November brand new at Best Buy
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Hi Kyle D. It's likely the installer was referring to the Washer when speaking about its need to balance itself out; most Samsung Washers have Vibration Reduction Technology for this purpose, but the Dryers do not. There are various factors that can effect noises in the Dryer (belt-driven motor, foreign objects in drum, etc.), so I would suggest reviewing the Troubleshooting section in the User Manual and on Samsung's website for tips. If this doesn't help to resolve the issue or alleviate your concerns, please call 800-SAMSUNG to speak with an agent who will be happy to help determine whether service is necessary. Thank you, Ms. Samsung
