Hello there! The gas model dryers will require a gas (or propane, if it's been converted) connection. The electrical connection for the gas models provides power for the control panel, while the gas (or propane) provides the power for the heat. I'd also like to note, Samsung does have many electric model dryers that only require an electrical connection. ^Jecca
