Hi Jeff, The DV42H5000GW was released prior to the Energy Star guidelines being introduced in 2015, and while it isn't certified it does feature Sensor Dry technology which is a key component for meeting the efficiency standards. Most Samsung Dryers released since the introduction of the guidelines do meet those requirements. Thanks for your interest, Ms. Samsung
