• Hello Kathy, The 49.7 inch width is from outside ends of the stand. Yes, If your table top is 51 inches wide tghe 70TU7000 will fit. ^Cristian

• Hi, if you are going for the 70 inch TV it measures 70 inches diagonally, 61 inches horizontally and about 50 inches from leg stand to leg stand. I'd say you need a table closer to 70 inches wide for it to fit comfortably. I didn't measure horizontally.
