There is 3 1/2 inches from the bottom of the UN82MU8000FXZA and the table top. So if your boxes are less than that, they should work. Another feature I like about the legs they can be moved in an estimated 4 inches for smaller tables or moved out for larger tables. Very happy with my TV so far.

Please try again later.I'm not at home right now to measure, but I know on mine that the XBOX Kinnect fits under the TV just fine so you shouldn't have any trouble fitting a cable box under there. For something bigger like a receiver it would have to be pretty short to fit that under there - I know for sure my Marantz 7011 would not come anywhere near to fitting under the TV.
