• Yes you go to sound settings and change output from tv speaker to optical or if it shows your sound bar etc..

• Absolutely! Just select "receiver" on the audio menu. I do this and play the sound, Dolby Digital 7.1, on a Denon receiver through HDMI cables and it sounds really great. And that is a really good TV picture in my opinion.
