• The laptop version of this SSD does not come with the USB to SATA cable. It does come with a CD that includes the cloning software. The desktop version includes the cable and a mounting bracket that's only needed for desktop installation. (About $20 more). In my case I upgraded my desktop first and then my laptop, so I had the cable.

• No, you will need to have some way to either clone or copy your existing hard drive to this unless you are using it for a spare storage drive.
