Yes, the Amazon Firestick can be powered by connecting it to a USB port of the TV. It is recommended to use the USB port with an HDD indicator with 5V and 1A, the other USB port has a lower Ampere rating and may cause issues with power. It is recommended to use the power adapter that came with the Firestick and connect it to a wall outlet. Connecting the Firestick to a USB port on the TV does not eliminate the number of wires, it is just that you're connecting it to a different power source.
