I see no reason why it would not be compatible with any laptop. I have upgraded my HP laptop with a Samsung 860 EVO SSD and it was the best thing I could have done. The bootup time went from over 3 minutes to half a minute. And browsing the WEB is much faster as well. And BTW my laptop is 4 years old.
