Since there was no answer posted; After buying it I am answering my own question: Yes the transfer was easy and my HP laptop recognize the new SSD 860 Evo 1Tb and it was reboot perfectly after a great but slow transfer. All the programs that were on my old drive are working fine. It works like I did not change anything except it is now faster. A great upgrade for a 5 years old laptop. Even the touchscreen works fine:)
