It should be fine. It appears the Y50 ships with HDD or SSD. You should be able to swap.

Youtube have a video show you how to replace it. just go to Youtube search Lenovo Y50 upgrade to SSD. you should be good to go.

It should work with no problems, I have one in my Lenovo 310, sped up the computer and made it work so much fasted. Also put on in my sons HP and wife's, Mac Pro
