• Not sure with the 2012 MacBook Pro, but it has been working fine on my MacBook Pro 2011. Make sure you enable TRIM after you install the new SSD. Good luck!

• I cannot directly answer your question BUT the Samsung 860 EVO did NOT work in a late 2012 Mac Mini. I believe (but do not know for sure) that the SSD had some sort of compatibility issue with my Mac Mini. I ended up trying a Western Digital SSD and it DID work. Of course, YEMV...
