• Yes you can transfer files to this drive. Need correct cable and software like drive image to do this .

• If you want to use it as an external hard drive you will need to also purchase a HD Enclosure. This is meant to add or replace an internal disk drive and does not come with connectors for external use.

• The Samsung data migration utility can move all of your drive to a new samsung. It will be bootable and will just work.
