Depending on how you want to use it! If your cloning the Drive yes you can use it or even for new install on a MacBook Pro! Now if You plan on using it as a Virtual Machine than you will Have to format it under windows as exFAT32 or exFat file system so readable in your Pro! I currently purchased 2 of these when Amazon had the for 169 BestBuy Price matched them and one I use as VM Mac on my Windows PC and the other i cloned with my Mac Book Pro!

If it is a secondary drive, run disk utility and select it, partition it, and format it. If it is replacing the primary drive, the simplest way is to make a backup of your system (Time Machine), then do either a clean install, or a restore. You can do an internet search for "clean install mac os" to find step by stem instructions. If you want to restore, select "Restore from Time Machine Backup" instead of install macOS. Keep your old drive until the restore is complete, just in case!
