You should be able to use this in your Asus. If your laptop has 2 drive bays you can make the Samsung your main drive and most definitely use the existing hard drive as additional storage. Definitely use the Samsung as your boot drive.

If you intend on using it strictly as a boot drive then you really don't need a 2TB size drive, something smaller would suffice. A solid state drive would be a good replacement for your HDD 5400 rpm drive if you want faster program or game loading times. This brand of drive also has a 3TB size as well. I just realized that you wanted to use this in laptop. The size profile of this drive may not fit in the space provided in your laptop unit. You should probably search for a solid state drive that is strictly intended for use in a laptop environment.
