“Is this SSD compatible with a 2015 15” Retina MacBook Pro?”

I know they make an adapter to address the pin difference. I've heard different answers on this. Some people say it'll work and some say it won't.

Nope. MacBook is not NVMe compatible it uses AHCI instead. You need to get one of Apples SSDs.

Google Other World Computing. Apple manages to make everything "proprietary" (even though there is already a standard present) which costs you more money. They do offer compatible upgrades although this 970 Evo is not one of them because Apple moved a few pins around.
