Nick, Unfortunately, it does not "appear" that your ASUS P8Z77-V LK System/Motherboard supports the Samsung 970-EVO SSD. The 970-EVO SSD utilizes the NVM-e (off of the PCI-Express) Architecture. According to the Crucial Memory Web-Site -- https://www.crucial.com/usa/en/compatible-upgrade-for/ASUS/p8z77-v-lk -- your System only supports SATA Versions of SSD's... However, Crucial and/or Micron do make SATA HDD's that will work in your system, such as the BX500 and MX500 Series of SATA SSD Drives. Perhaps ASUS Support can give you a more definitive answer, regarding NVM-e SSD Disks. Hope this helps.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It doesn't look like it, you would probably want to look at the Samsung 860 Evo (or Pro), since your mobo does not have an NVMe slot. If you do get the 860 Evo (or Pro), you'll want to make sure it is connected to one of the gray SATA ports on your board to get the full speed out of the drive, it only has 2 full speed SATA ports, the blue ports are SATA 3Gbps, which will not give you all the speed you can get from a new SSD. Hope that helps.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. From what I see on the Internet your motherboard does not support m.2 natively. It does have PCI-E slots so it may be supported with an expansion card. You need to check the specs for the motherboards PCI-E slots with an expansion card that supports M.2. If they match then buy both the card and drive, install the drive on the card and the card in an expansion slot on your motherboard and you are good to go. As far as other drives any drive with an Standard SATA connection (usually 2.5 inch form factor) will work as long as you have an SATA connector and power connector for the drive.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. No, not without an NVME to PCIE adapter. The SSDs that will work with that motherboard will be standard SATA 2.5 inch SSDs such as the Samsung 860. Best Buy has them listed as SSDs for laptops, but they can be used for standard desktop PCs. You will need a 2.5 to 3.5 mounting bracket though to properly mount one, which Best Buy does sell on the website.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Unfortunately no that motherboard does not have a M.2 slot on the board itself to support the drive instead i would suggest going with a standard SSD that takes a sata port instead like the Samsung 860 EVO or any other 2.5 SSD
