I believe the Z390 Strix has at least 1 M2 connecter. I checked with ASUS and you DO have one M2 connector. This drive will work!
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think BestBuy needs to change their description. I don't know why they would says for a laptop. It is for any MB that has the M.2 NVME slot. Works great on my Asus MB, which is a desktop. Makes no sense to describe it as for a laptop only.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It will work great, Jason. I think the arbitrary "for laptops" name they put on a lot of products can be misleading, but you can assume with the board you have and a desktop system, everything but RAM will work fine with your machine. The M.2 is the form factor of the connector and PCIe is the interface to your motherboard, whether desktop or laptop. This is pretty much the absolute fastest drive you can put in your machine. I posted a photo to help you find where the drive goes, which isnt obvious just looking at your motherboard. HTH

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Yes, this will work for desktops that have an M.2 slot available, either built into the motherboard itself or as part of a PCIe expansion card. It only says "for laptops" because the M.2 form factor is most typically seen in laptops (because it's so much smaller and can fit into a slim laptop chassis). These types of SSDs are becoming more commonly used in desktops nowadays. Remember, M.2 is the physical form factor, and NVMe is the technology that makes this so much faster than your average SSD.
