Do I need to buy a heat sink for this ssd? null

This doesn't come with a heat sink, so you'll need to buy one if you want or need a heat sink. Depending on your intended use you can opt to not use one but you risk damaging it if you run your PC or Console intensely and it gets pretty hot. I always say it's better to have it and not need it, than need it and not have it.

Yes, will most likely need a heatsink if it's not in position to receive direct air flow from case fans or other. As far as I can tell, most if not all SSD's can get pretty warm under heavy loads.
