“Does it timeout when there's no sound playing and shut off automatically? If so can this feature be disabled?”

Yes, the HW-B550F soundbar has an Auto Power Down Function that turns off the soundbar automatically if it is in one of the following modes: D.IN, HDMI, BT, or USB and there is no audio signal for 20 minutes. It will also automatically turn off if the Aux cable is disconnected for 20 minutes. At this time, this feature is built in and cannot be disabled. It’s intended to help conserve energy when the soundbar is not in use. ~ Samsung Solutions
