The Apps can often be similar, depending on the model of TV and Blu-Ray player you have. If you want to use the TV's SmartTV option only, you can launch only the TV's SmartTV interface with the TV's remote and not use the Blu-Ray's lineup. Since it's installed on both, there's not a way to "uninstall" the SmartTV features, but you can avoid it by not launching it. If we can help further, please let us know how we can help. Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. If anything, you should use the Blu-Ray players applications. Every TV is like a computer now, it uses its processor to assist in many of it's basic functions. Adding on the smart feature puts another load on the processor. In short, the apps will generally run faster on your Blu-Ray Player then they will right through the TV. Some reports I have read note that doing this could increase the lifespan of your TV.
