The 3-D player plays 3-D content in addition to 2-D Blu-Ray discs, and even DVDs and CDs. 3-D is just an added feature for some of the higher models of Samsung Blu-Ray players, and they will support all the Blu-Ray discs regular Blu-Ray players will play. • If your question is whether you can play non-3D movies on this player, yes you can. I use this player with a non-3D television and play non-3D media...and probably always will.

• yes. we play standard blu-ray movies and regular DVDs on this all the time. It works great.

• Sure, it'll play 2D movies.. you can also upscale a 2D->3D movie provided your TV is 3D capable as well

• The 3D players play every format. 2D Blu-ray and DVD's. You just pay extra to get the 3D capabilites.
