Customers admire the BD-H6500/ZA Blu-ray player's exceptional picture quality, ease of use, and 4K upscaling capabilities. Many appreciate its convenient features, including built-in Wi-Fi and streaming options, as well as its compact size and reasonable price. However, some users find the placement of the controls and buttons on the top of the unit inconvenient, and a few have expressed concerns about the remote's design and functionality. Overall, the positive feedback on picture quality and ease of use outweighs the negative comments regarding the controls.

The ease of use makes movie watching fun. The clarity and the up scaling are amazing. Watching 3d or blue ray the best!

Got this as a replacement for my Sony DVD player from 5 years back, still works but wanted HD. I wanted something that was buget friendly and still wouldn't be dated in a year.
Pro:
4K upscale everything that it plays or go through it.
Bluray & Regular player
Smart Hub for TV ( Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, Vudu, and everything else + Web Browser)
3D convention ( have not test)
?/Dual Processors= Fast Start and Loads.
Front of unit has displays and not just light to show status. On corner there are also touch button to control Player, when we couldn't find the remote. :-)
Con:
Remote button is small, I will be getting a keyboard ( Samsung or Logistic). But it light up at night. Hard to enter movies on Hub or web site with current remote.
So far 2 months, we are happy. Picture through this with new 4k TV is awesome. Got on black Friday with tax and 3 years warranty under $110. Better deal than model up and cheaper than Sony model.
I would recommend !

Picture quality and upscaling for non 4K content is good. Paired easily with Samsung 4K tv, so only need to use one remote to control both. Only issue has been that on some movies the play button and the enter button don't work and the tv says it is an invalid selection or unable to perform operation with disk; making starting the movie frustrating. I eventually get the movie to start, sometimes it does it on its own after the previews of other movies. I notice this especially on Redbox movies for some reason, so maybe it has more to do with how some disks are formatted than the player itself. Set up was easy and smart features appear to be working correctly, including wifi. For the price at Black Friday the player was a good choice.

Its great on all fronts, esp because it actually HAS an honest to goodness net browser, for all the content that you cannot get apps for.
Liberating.
Downside? The keyboard sucks. Typing one letter at a time, by scrolling across QWERTY via remote is positively archaic. They should fix it by pairing permanently with a smart phone.
Picture quality 9.5/10
Sound 9/10
Usage ease for remote......hmmm. 7/10.
The keys are too confusing in the layout. Its all there, but you have to hunt for it. Especially the FFWD REW buttons. Ideally both sets of buttons (direction + chapter) for forward and reverse should be together. What they have done is have the 2 chapter buttons together and the FW rwd buttons together. Clumsy.
No lights on the remote for reading all the fine print. Needs a rethink.
Other than that, breeze to set up. Strong wifi reception. Good to fine pic quality, depends on source. DVD upscaling ......not too sure they cracked that yet, but blurays are fine. Tge difference between dvd and blu ray is huge when i watch on my lg UHD. Dvds pixellate, no upscaling of any note, period.
Very light, therefore totally transportable. Travel with it and hook it to your hotel UHD tv. Get netflix in large screen wherever you want.
Should have had more than one dvd capacity.
Overall grade, 8/10, but then the closest comparison of the same brand is 7/10 and competing brand (S on y or pan ason ic) havent yet crossed 6.5 and 5.5 respectively. When seen Apple to apple, same price range.
Worth buying, definitely.
Am I happy. Yes, for now, because I dont have a better option in the market yet.

The player is pretty east to use. Only negative I would say is the buttons on the player itself are on the top of the player. You have to pull of the player to see which buttons you are pressing, until you memorize wher they are. Great picture, and great addition when using a Samsung 4k UHD TV. If you have a Smasung phone, recommened downloading the smart remote so you can use your phone to control your player and tv.

This is an excellent blu-ray play. Using HDMI, only cable other than power cord. Unit upgrades both DVD and Blu-Ray movies, and automatically sets up the best sound as provided by the media source. Summary - easy to use, excellent picture and good pricing at Best Buy.

I have had bad luck with DVD players as long as I can remember. This 3d bluray player is so simple to use and has been giving my ultra HD TV the best picture to date! Highly recommended. I also like the fact it's a smart player to stream Netflix

I finally broke down and bought my first Blu-ray player. I did my research and decided to purchase this one. And, I have to say I just love my new Wi-Fi Blu-ray player. I am technically challenged however this Wi-Fi Blu-ray was easy to set up. I was online in no time at all and I didn't have to call my son for any support. :) I really enjoy being able to watch movies on Netflix, Hulu or Amazon. The first week I had it, I barely watched TV at all. With the costs of cable TV getting higher and higher I am strongly considering cancelling my cable service and turning in my DVR player. If you are a first time buyer for this type of product and are not tech savvy like me, this is a great choice!

Had to replace our old Blu Ray which was extremely slow and sometimes non-functioning. So we came in and were pointed in the direction of this new model. Has all the features we wanted; wi-fi, streaming, 4K, 3D, etc. Got our home theater back up to par with the latest and greatest bells and whistles available. VERY HAPPY!

I was looking for a Blu-ray player with web browsing. I found this and more when I purchased the Samsung Smart Blu-Ray Player BD-H6500/ZA. The unit was easy to set up and the picture quality and l features are excellent. I love the fact that I can also play my regular DVD's, in addition to my music CD's on this unit as well. I would truly recommend this Blu-Ray Player to anyone..

Easy to use, powered up and worked. Great color pictures. I have a 4K TV and can see the improvements from the 4K upscaling. One thing to be aware is the touch buttons are on top of the player (right front), so you cannot stack another machine on top of it. It's fine as long as you put it on top of your stack.

I bought this to unit to replace my Samsung Blu-Ray player from several years ago. Even though I do not have a 3D TV, this unit matched many of my "must have" criteria. I wanted it to have the 4K upscaling, because you never know what the future holds for getting a new TV. I also love that it has several apps that you can get, like Netflix and it also has the Amazon Prime movie app, and many more. It has games you can play. I ended up playing a few games for over an hour when I found this neat feature. The look of the movie is about the same as the other Blu-Ray as I don't have a 4K TV or special cable for it, but the standard HDMI cable works just fine and the picture is beautiful. I have a Samsung sound bar, and the sound comes through great. Also, the DVD starts much faster than it did on my older machine. The only drawback that I really really wanted was for it to remember where I last was watching a DVD if I had to stop the DVD during playback. This machine does not have that feature. You have to restart the DVD and try to fast forward to where you can remember you were. That being said, the fast forward is MUCH better than our old machine. It's very smooth and not choppy at all. And for less than one hundred dollars, this machine is worth it.

I recently bought this Blu-Ray player... and it is great! This Samsung
does Blu-Rays, DVDs, and all sorts of flavors in each category. Additionally, it does Wi-Fi, 3D and 4K Upscaling, but I don't need those right now - I invested into the future so that if I improve the technology in my entertainment center it will work with it. Oh by the way - it is also a Smart Hub-equipped device, and because I also have a Smart TV from the same company they like to talk to each other, so they work great as a pair. Same company; same tech, as I like to say. Because of such a feature, it does all the fun channels like Amazon, Hulu, Netflix, and YouTube, which is great because I like such things, and you can add more channels as well! Cool, don't you think? With all that being said, I highly recommend that you invest in this product, because I can tell you from experience that it's a great asset for your entertainment center.

So far it works great. Very easy to operate and streams video very smoothly without glitches. I would recommend this product to anyone who is tired of glitchy, out of sinc video and audio products out there. I've had my share of those players that you would spend more time in the settings and troubleshooting area to fix the issue than actually enjoying watching movies! I haven't had to do that one time so far and I've had this player for 3 months and counting.....

Although this unit is not the lowest cost option the performance is excellent. It is easy to setup and the applets are reasonably snappy. One caveat - I could not get the unit to pass-through High-Def audio (DTS-MA or TrueHD) from a ripped source attached via USB. Also, I do not yet own a 4K set so I was not able to test the upscaling.

Easy to setup and has all the bells and whistles you will need. Streaming from the major services such as Hulu and Netflix, excellent clear picture with my 4k TV. well worth the extra bucks. why spend 3k on a 4k television and not get the DVD player that it deserves.

The DVD interfaces well with my Samsung UHD TV. It provides a great picture with remarkable definition, colors and clarity. The only minor downside is the complexity of using the remote. The manual was useful but still required a lot of trial and error.

I'm not sure how these things differentiate themselves to be honest. They all have the same picture quality. They all come with the "smart hub" capability but, frankly, that doesn't give you anything more than you already have from your Samsung smart TV. And they all seem to have the same "buttons" located where they are.
What I'd like to see different?
1. I don't like the "buttons" on this thing - "buttons" is in quotations because they really aren't buttons, it's a little Touch Pad type thing on top of the unit. The "buttons" are marked very poorly - especially when considering that you probably put this think in a cabinet and not on top of a stand with unobstructed view to its top. If I use the "buttons" I invariably have to put on my reading glasses AND use my iPhone flashlight to see which one I need to touch. Give a guy some front facing buttons with symbols (and don't make the symbols the same black color as the rest of the box!).
2. The remote works fine and provides all of the buttons required to operate this thing. Unfortunately, in this day and age I still need to have a bucket of remotes to operate the entertainment equipment even though I've gone with 100% Samsung - one of the TV, one for the sound bar, one for the cable box, and one for the DVD player. My kingdom for a true universal remote that actually allows me to stuff the rest of these things in the cabinet.
3. Just a bit of information for people "like me" (if there are any left). I've taken a BIG step in the last few weeks. I went a 30 inch Cathode Ray Tube (CRT) television (some of you may have to consult wikipedia to understand what that is) with a VCR (and HUNDREDS of video tapes holding every from precious family memories to every Disney movie ever made) to a 75 inch 4K 3D smart Samsung TV with Blue Ray Player and Surround sound. It's all AMAZING - BUT .... your old SD DVDs will look so bad on that amazing equipment that you'll get sick in your stomach watching. Don't expect too much from all of the "upscaling" hype.
