“Will this unit still upscale to 2160P with a 1080P only capable receiver, and a non-smart TV?”

• No, only 4K TV can do 2160p. My older Pioneer VSX 821 which is 3D/ARC 1080p capable did not like the 2160p mode so I set the Samsung player to 1080p mode and it worked fine with HDMI. I have high speed HDMI cables but not 4K highest speed cables yet.

• Doubtful since the receiver is the limiting factor. You'd also have to menu disable the UHD feature on the player for it to work but it's a better 1080p player in every way as I discovered.
