Basically the same idea - if you hook it up to the internet - I used an Ethernet cord to my router- you can download apps to use services like Amazon and Netflix. It also has an internet radio app that is pretty cool. It was pretty simple to set up. The first unit I got didn't want to play blu Ray discs on the second day I had it. Exchanged it for another one and so far so good on that.

If you want Netflix or something like that on your tv you need an Apple TV box or something along that line to do that..its simply, a really nice DVD player. Smart TVS arent that expensive...if thats what you would like to have than you should get one of those..we just bought a really nice one of those from Best Buy too.
