Have you double checked that all plastic and platic tape was removed after installation? We had to completely remove the freezer tray to get all the tape off.

I appreciate your taking the time to raise this inquiry regarding the fridge ice compartment, not opening. Samsung's ice makers are designed to stop when they're full. There are two methods for this: an optical sensor or a mechanical arm, which detects when ice has piled high enough. If your ice maker won't stop making ice, it means ice is not piling high enough to reach the sensor or arm, typically because the ice bucket is not in the proper position. Samsung ice maker makes too much ice https://www.samsung.com/us/support/troubleshooting/TSG01203469/ If your ice bucket is stuck and won't come out, don't try to force it too hard. A little gentle wiggle should be all you need to shake it loose. If you've never removed your ice bucket before, don't fret: most have a trick to them, like a special angle to pull at that makes it a lot easier. Some models also have a button or lever to release the ice bucket.
