• Hi awagner, We are glad to answer your question about the average dry time on this Samsung dryer machine. The cycle time with 8 lbs. of laundry is 80 mins using the normal cycle. This model is also equipped with a time dry feature where you can select a specific time between 20 minutes to 240 minutes. Leo

• It has a lot of different drying options, so it varies. It really is better than my old dryer. Just make sure that whoever delivers it hooks up the water draining hose into the drainage for your washer. It catches the water into a tank while drying, then you have to dump it after each time you finish drying. However, it will work just like a regular dryer IF the drainage hose that comes with it gets hooked up and put into the same drain pipe your washer goes into.
