• No. It is a little bit of a strange setup though and requires a backward/downward press.

• No, I don't really have any trouble. However, you need to press gently in the right Place on top of the flash to get it to close properly and quickly. I started out just trying to press down firmly on top and that doesn't work very well. However when I finally figured out just where to press on top of the flash, it went down and locked back in place very easily. Now, no more problems closing.
