“If I buy this with Verizon as my carrier and get it shipped to me do I then have to take it to the Verizon store to get it set up? Or if I already have a phone on a plan (I have a s10e )could I just swap the Sim card myself and transfer everything myself?”

I also use Verizon and replaced an S10. The new phone came with the new Sim card installed, no swapping of Sim cards is required or proper. I did not need to go to a Verizon store to set the phone up. I did everything from my home.
