The Core 3 more than meets Google's Chromebook Plus specification. I'm a professional software developer so I'm accustomed to Ryzen 9 and i9 processors for my development machines. I can see absolutely no reason for more than a Core 3 on a Chromebook. Have you used this Galaxy Chromebook Plus? It is very fast because Chrome OS is very economical of compute resources and the OLED screen is a joy to use! I'm using mine to operate multiple development PCs with Remote Desktop.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Sorry but Chromebooks are light computers, ChromeOS is not a Desktop OS. they are super comfortable in the lap. the battery last several hours, that won't be if they have a i5, i7 or i9 even the Chromebooks plus are light and comfy. You can order a chromebook directly from Dell or HP, with i5 and 16gb ram and 512gb ssd. but they are pricy. and they are limited by the OS that is not a Desktop OS. these Chromebooks are not carry by retail stores because won't, sell, just few people need them or willing to pay the high price.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. There will likely be an i5 version from Samsung, along with 16Gb of RAM, but BestBuy probably won't stock it.
