Hello kristy, thanks for asking! You cannot make or answer calls directly on your watch unless it has a built-in mic and speaker like the Galaxy Watch Active2, Galaxy Watch, and Gear S3. Calls can only be rejected with a Galaxy Fit. ^Elizabeth
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Nope. Basic smartwatch. You can only see a call is coming in on your phone (or missed call after the fact). You cannot talk. You can read a text received on the watch, but only have prefab responses. Yes, your phone needs to be near-ish to see on your watch. I can be working out on 2nd floor of house with my phone on the 1st and still be able to see calls and texts on the watch. But once it's out of range, you won't be able to.
