• A:Answer No. You have to activate the total wireless account first. But consumer cellular still doesn't understand how to connect this phone.

Q: QuestionSo can this phone be used as a Tracphone? Are there a required number of minutes a month that have to be used? I am older and not very tech. I just want to get rid of my monthly Verizon bill. So not quite sure if this is something that would be less.

• A:Answer Walmart, dollar general, and other places sale the card. No it doesn't have a contract. They will give u the number when u get it activated. I have had total wires for about 3 years I've had 6-7 different phones, I love it
