The unlocked version is Universal and will work with all the carriers, So you can choose. See Spec for Best Buy site: Universal Unlocked Compatible with all major U.S. carriers, including Verizon, AT&T, Sprint and T-Mobile. Also compatible with prepaid carriers including Cricket Wireless, Boost Mobile, MetroPCS, Simple Mobile, Total Wireless, Tracfone, Net10, Mint, and H2O.

The only reason your carrier lets you finance a phone through them is because it’s their version of the phone and they have control of it until you’ve payed it off. When you buy unlocked it is not tied to any particular carrier and it typically means you have to either purchase it out right or purchase it on a credit card like the Best Buy card. Obviously Best Buys financing is not exactly like your carriers because Best Buy doesn’t have a set payment but they do have a minimum payment of at least $35 a month. So you could do that.

There is no carrier bloat on any unlocked phone therefore, no incentive for the carriers to offer you discounts on it. Midnight black could be coming, but at a later date.

Simply because the carriers have no incentive to allow you to do so since the phone isn't locked to their network. If you'd like to finance then your option for unlocked is the Best Buy CC. Midnight Black is not available to the US at the current time, thats down to Samsung, no one cares you're upset about it.
