A:AnswerI would be carefull. After purchasing the factory unlocked S21 ultra I called tracphone to transfer my old phone number from Tracphone to my new phone. They said I neede a Verizon sim card. So I purchased a sim card and called again. After almost an hour they said it will not work, I have to purchase a sim card kit for Tracphone. Did that and called again. After an hour and a half they said it was defective sim and it was their sim card. So now they are sending me another sim card that is supposed to work. This has been going on for 2 weeks and still waiting. It took a week to get the phone. 4 days for the first sim card. 4 more days for the second sim card and now going on 4 days for the third sim card and still no guaranties it will work. Almost 5 hours combined to Tracphone and still I have no service on a very expensive phone. I bought it for the camera and only rarely make calls so would like the cheap tracphone but am getting disgusted.

A:AnswerYeppers. This is half of the reason I love unlocked phones. Understand though that some carriers use different networks and different SIM cards.
There are versions of this phone (EU variants, I believe) that are "dual SIM" meaning that they can use both of the major variants of SIM card and are compatible with both networks. Unlocked phones are kind of a new thing here in the US where we allow carriers to monopolize the airwaves and essentially build high walls around their particular flavor of service/network, but other parts of the world have been past this for a while. We let people pile cash as high as they can, which arguably accomplishes nothing for anyone, then the bureaucracy protects their money all day to the detriment of the people. I'm not going to start quoting Marx or anything, but...
