I believe if you're still leasing your current phone you'll have to pay it off before you can upgrade your phone unless you're at the end of the lease. If you are, then you can trade in your current phone and start a new lease agreement on the new one. Go onto Sprint.com and look at your acct, it'll tell you how many payments you have left.
