“I read an article that said the S8 will have a mono speaker instead of a stereo speaker. Is this true? Will this bring down quality of sound when playing videos/music on the phone? What about when you have someone on speaker phone and HD voice?”

Quality of sound is spot on. Whether music or phone call.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I was showing my wife last night how loud this phone is. The sound quality is pretty good too. And when plugged to my Bluedeo Pro head phones it sounds amazing. Haven't used the speaker phone much, but so far no complaints. Hope this helps. Go down to best buy and play with one.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.This is a true statement. There is only one speaker. You can see the single grill on the bottom of the phone. Quality is probably subjective... its not really that the quality is worse, but you won't have the stereo effect of two speaker (which is probably somewhat negligible on a phone any where they would be so close to together). If you play audio through headphones, it will still be stereo. As far as the quality of a voice call... voice calls are not in stereo anyway. Even if you have stereo speakers on a phone, the person on the other end is speaking into one microphone (the others are for noise cancellation). So the source would be mono there really wouldn't be a stereo effect.
