No you cannot plug a thumb drive into the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 you can get a micro SD card as long as it's no more then 32 gigabytes because the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 does not support Micro SD cards that are more than 32 gigabytes. Then put the movies onto the micro SD card then put the microSD card into the microSD card slot on the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4. You also have to make sure that the movies are in the correct format but the Samsung Galaxy Tab 4 does support many formats.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. You can buy a microUSB flash drive that works well with this device. It shows up as an additional disk. < http://www.bestbuy.com/site/sandisk-ultra-dual-16gb-usb-2-0-micro-usb-flash-drive-black/3814038.p?id=1219093904745&skuId=3814038 >
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I know you can watch downloaded content from a micro SD card up to 64gb. Just insert the micro SD card into the slot allow it time to process your card then go to folder or the video app icon and view whatever is on the SD card. You can also load directly to the memory of the tablet though I don't recommend that depending of the internal size of you drive such as 8gb, 16gb, 32gb... As for an actually FLASH DRIVE there's no plug-in directly into the tab for that to work.

Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I think you can, but you will need a converter that converts your usb to the micro usb that fits your tablet. It should work that way.
