Found this out the hard way. Had a Tab 4 7.0 that supported a/b/g/n 2.4/5ghz band. Assumed the Tab A 7.0 would also. Wrong. Go to check out my wifi settings and see my 5Ghz wifi isn't showing up. A little more spec research and I learn the Tab A only supports b/g/n and 2.4Ghz band only. Very disappointing. I have an AC1900 Asus router. My old Tab 4 7.0 will get full wifi speeds on the 2.4ghz band..about 59mbps. Same test multiple times on the Tab A 7.0 I was maxing out only around 18-20mbps. I was wondering why the Tab A was downloading so much slower than the Tab 4 when i was doing a side by side test. Annoying.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. This does not support A/C. Wireless N is the highest it will support.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Apparently not. After considering this tablet and studying reviews, I purchased the Samsung Tab A 8" screen. because it was also on sale for $40 more. It has the dual WIFI capability and also does not have weak WIFI complaints as with the A 7 tablet. It also has double memory at 16gb vs the 8 gb of the A 7. The tab A 8 obviously a larger screen and also a slightly larger battery of 4200mAh vs 4000mAh in the A 7. Most all of the other feature are practically identical. processor speed 1.2 ghz / 1.3 ghz... ok. Same RAM, Same 5mp rear camera. Both have Android Lollipop version operating system. the tab A8 has bright display and loud audio reviews say.
