Pretty close in size. Main difference is screen resolution is better on the 10.1 hence why the lower price point. The Tab A is pre-loaded with Android 5.0 Lollipop while the Note 10.1 is on Android 4.4 KitKat and need to be updated to Android 5.0. That being said, the Tab A may get an update to Android 6 while the Note 10.1 more than likely won't. Seems to have the same S Pen functionality as the Note 10.1. Split screen is limited to certain apps just as they are in the Note 10.1, and same in terms of multitasking. Yes, you can import PDF files into S Note and write on them and export out to PDF after. Overall the only negative is the screen resolution for the Tab A, but other than that, has most of the same features you are looking for in the Note 10.1 at a lower price and still be upgradable.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. My husband has the tab note 10.1 much better than the tab a with s pen . You will miss many features like flash on camera. Multi window setting. Resolution and clarity not so good.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I am not sure about the PDF import but the TabA 9.7 with pen does allow split screen with apps that support it. It has been a lifesaver for me in terms of note taking because of the handwriting feature on the keyboard.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have the galaxy 10.1 purchased in 2013. I bought this device as the spen feature reminds me of the galaxy I replaced. it works very much like the galaxy 10.1. I use one note as it is in the cloud. s note was nice as well but remained on the device only. I can create pdfs from one note so I like this better. I haven't tried to import pdfs into some note though. if you buy this Make sure you buy tab A with s pen..not just Tab A. Both are sold and are different. I purchased Tab A with S pen.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. It is a wee bit smaller and probably thinner than the one you described a I have had that one for a year. It sometimes doesn't load Internet pages but that might be due to my Internet company out here in the sticks
