The s-pen is better than a finger or other stylus. It's thinner and in the s-notes program you can change the thickness and color of the pen. It also has other features when hovering above the screen, and when you depress the button on the side a menu of quick tasks opens up. Note taking is easy in the s-notes program and writing with the s-pen is useful in other programs like calendar, tasks, etc. S-notes converts writing to text pretty easily. There are a few quirks to it but it is very intuitive. The MS apps that are pre-loaded are read only, you have to pay to upgrade to write/edit functionality. They will work with other PC/Mac MS products but there may be some inconsistencies across platforms. The 9.7 vs 7 inch screen is a personal choice but I purchased the 9.7 for going to college and I'm glad I did. It's perfect for taking notes, writing equations, and sketching.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later. The s-pen allows you to preform all of the touch functions except zooming and does them in a neat and precise way. It reduces the fingerprints and smudges. I also enjoy being able to write on my tablet for quick notes or to work with my calendar. Then there is that whole doodling thing that you can do.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I have a larger hand size and sometimes trying to get a button to work on the screen I will hit it a bunch of times trying to get it to work where the pen makes it much easier with accuracy. not sure about taking notes or writing with it. I'm not sure what Microsoft apps your referencing but it synced up my Google profile perfectly. As for the size, it's perfect for me. My wife has the IPAD mini and I like this way better.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.Pen allows moving small items on the screen. The pen also allows note taking or sketches.
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.you dont HAVE to use the spen but its actually really fun. ive been using mine for note taking and its EXTREMELY accurate. if i dont feel like finger pecking the onscreen keyboard i could use the spen and it transcribe the text. If you have OFFICE 365 you can access files you saved from the tablet on other devices like with google drive, the 9.7 is like perfect tablet size. i have the note 5. so getting a tablet that was only a couple inches bigger then my phone seemed pointless. the 9.7 is small enough but not so huge. i can fit it in my purse/bag and not feel weighty
Sorry, there was a problem. Please try again later.I went looking when I bought my tablet, I thought the pen was more money and if I wanted to use a stylus I'd go buy one which I have. I see no advantage as I have the note 4, and I barely use the pen unless I'm tired. If your talking Microsoft apps from the windows store then no, but this tablet comes prepackaged with Microsoft Office. I find larger tablets are easier for use, this sits on my lap very well especially with a case it's less likely to slide. I use this for Netflix, hulu, homework, everything. Since your used to the 7' model it'll be an adjustment.
