• It is unlocked, no contract, I use a prepaid plan from Verizon

• AFAIK it is unlocked since Verizon never officially supported the 8.4in Galaxy S. However it was meant for Verizon and will work out of the box. I think you might need to change some APN settings to get it on a GSM carrier.
