“Can you enlarge portions of a photo (you have downloaded and are viewing) with your fingers so you can see zoomed closeups clearly? I need something to view details of my subject matter while I am painting.”

That depends entirely on which app you use to open the photo. Google Photos will do this. The tablet itself certainly supports the standard Android pinch and zoom facility. And the quality of the screen means that if you zoom, you will get great detail up until you reach the limits of the image itself.

It will also allow pinch/zoom on many photos on webpages IF the webpage itself allows it - which sometimes they do not. In that case, I normally capture a screenshot, then open the picture on my tablet and pinch/zoom from there. I've tried out, purchased & had to return a few tablets over the past few months, and FINALLY, I found one I love and am keeping.
