This is an excellent tablet, but may prove awkward to use as an ereader for extended periods of time. It is overly large for that purpose, has an awkward aspect ratio for that purpose, and is somewhat heavy. I have found that the Samsung Tab A7 Lite to be far more serviceable as an ereader - it is about the size and proportions of a paperback novel, and can be easily held in one hand for extended periods of time. I have both the Tab S6 Lite and the Tab A7 Lite, and am doing all my book reading with the Tab A7 Lite.

For example, it would be great for also looking at videos. I think it might prove to be too heavy for long term reading and the length to width ratio might make for balance issues for some people. I have an old and slow 8 inch tablet I use for an ereader. It cost less and weighs a lot less especially since I scrapped the case. If I drop it and break it or I lose it it is no big loss with its age. If cost is an issue, there are other tablets for less money that would make excellent ereaders. Amazon Fire tablets are good inexpensive readers but they can be slow and of limited use for other tasks. I have an old 7 inch fire tablet that I ofter use for reading but that is about all I find it good for. I love my s6 light but I did not buy to be an ereader even though I have loaded my library on it and may sometimes read on it. Good question but no simple answer.
