Lots of incorrect information is out there about the USB port on both the standard and gold edition. They have one USC-C port, so you absolutely need an adapter. I would have preferred a standard USB port but I use an adapter whenever I need one - it's not a problem for me.

Just one usb-c. So if your charging you will need a usb-c splitter

NO but you can buy an Attachment that goes in the c cable port to add a USB I use my external DVD CD burner,external hard drives and flash drives on mine it is my new lightweight small replacement for my laptop I travel a lot and I love it.

there is the usb-c only. adapters available to provide peripheral ports, but primary function is your charging port.
