Not a Samsung android--don't be fooled.
||Posted .Thought I bought a Samsung android tablet just like 2 other Samsung android devices I own but I got fooled. Unfortunately, the guys at Best Buy were not knowledgeable about this device so even though I asked several times if this device could play game apps and they assured me it could, I learned too late that it does not. I would not have bought the device, had I known it is the only Samsung Galaxy that is NOT an android and does not play game apps. I won't get fooled again.

Better than expected from Online Reviews
||Posted .All of the reviews I read made it sound like it is a beautiful tablet but lacking in everything else. This is not true, I am extremely happy with the performance of this tablet. I have installed Draft Sight (AutoCAD LT), Mathcad, One Note, Excel, PowerPoint, and League of Legends. All run perfectly fine (League of Legends not on high graphics) and I have had multiple open at once though not all of them at the same time. The biggest worry I had was the note taking ability and this is what most reviewers seemed to think the worst aspect of the tablet. I upgraded from a Surface 3 and yes the pen is nicer on the Surface, however I am not an Artist and this pen has everything I need (That is to palm rejection and some pressure sensitivity). I can free draw graphs and other things in online meetings which has been extremely important lately. I wasn't planning on even looking at this as a viable option until I saw the black Friday price, super glad I did as this hits everything I was looking for in a ultra portable work/play tablet/laptop. Also, don't let the one port bug you, the Samsung adapter that has hdmi out, usb c charging and usb 3.0 input or one identical to it (just cheaper)works great. Another concern reviews had online was the keyboard, it's not as nice as the Surface line, yes this is correct, however, it took me about 30 min of typing to get used to it and I haven't had an issue since. Lastly, I was worried about the ability to use it on my lap sitting on the couch or in bed in 'laptop' mode as a few of the reviews said it was not as nice as the kickstand on the Surface 3. They were 100% wrong, in the more 'relaxed' mode it is easy to see and more stable as it has a nice large base to balance on my legs instead of the kickstand. This works way better for me personally.

Not excellent, but good
||Posted .I am pretty excited to get this product and I took advantage that it was put on sale, so I bought it. The construction of the tablet, the screen quality and performance are excellent. The screen is a beauty and sound was acceptable. Nevertheless, I was extremely dissapointed when I realized that this device do not have a Micro SD card slot for extra storage. Yeah, I understand you can get the multifunction hub, but that is an extra accessory you need to carry everywhere. The keyboard is not my favorite. It is kind of clunky and sometimes a little unresponsive; depending on how fast your type. Overall I would recommend this product if you get it on sale. I don't think the regular price of $999 is worth it.

hard to judge product
||Posted .great for a productive tablet. no so great for a mobile device. I realize for some "mobile device" means cellular. I'm using the term for tablets. it does not run on Android so it is not the right choice for someone looking for a large screen mobile device. however, it does seem to run Hulu/Netflix well. for all other streaming functions I use web browsers and after a set up period they work fine. when on sale, this was a no-brainer. it was the same price as the Galaxy Tab S2, which at the time was the premium tablet. This however came with Windows 10, full desktop capability which over the years I have come to enjoy Windows 10 versions of Microsoft apps better than Android/iOS versions. The upgraded RAM really helps. I can run multiple desktops with Outlook, OneNote, Excel, and Word all at once. many complain about Windows Store being limited, and rightfully so. Even the available apps WatchTNT and WatchESPN do not play content as well as their respective web sites. However, those and Amazon seem to play fine through Chrome. There are complaints about the keyboard and stand positions and rightfully so. I can not see myself depending on this as a full time machine but as a convenient device on short trips it has done the job. The unique color is awesome, gorgeous....if that matters to you. it does for me for the novelty value. Keyboard could be better but as I mentioned it's passable for a backup or alternate device. One thing I noticed is that first few times I booted this up it was jittery and slow. I returned the first purchase. With the 2nd device I kept it longer and ran it a few extra times. I guess I just needed to build up the cache, it had the same concerns at first but runs fine now. side notes: I've tried lots of devices and I always like to run task manager apps to view performance. I was first introduced to 2-in-1s through the Surface 3 LTE. That had 2GB RAM. This version seems to always stop refreshing after a period. I have to turn the refresh rate on. That could be a setting I do not yet know about. At first, I had a hard time with screenshots. Surface 3 was easy to set up to store screenshots in OneDrive. This device requires Scrapbook app to initiate and store screenshots. Online forums posed the question with few answers. After reading and experimentation I have found Fn+Win+PrtSc to take screenshots and store them in the default pictures folder which for now, works for me. Screen will dim momentarily to alert that screenshot has successfully saved. Finally, I also agree with complaints that one USB-C port is too few. Maybe there was a sale that included the $80 port adapter, but in my opinion that should be either built-in or included in the purchase. Same for the Pen, $80-90 for a pen, not an exciting proposition. Those purchases would take this out of "value territory" for me. If there was a combo deal maybe, because I also have not seen an option for ethernet adapter. Something tells me that this would be a cool device with the ability to hard wire internet and connect other mobile devices. ADAPTER PLEASE!

I think this is a great 2-in-1 PC tablet!
||Posted .I bought this in May (2017) when the price dropped significantly. I had been wanting this one for much longer but couldn't justify paying that steep price, and I was also basing that on the many, varying reviews, where so many people were finding much fault with this model. As for battery power, I use my "tablet" daily and the battery has been lasting for 6 hours. I do stream video's and movies, so that does drain the battery faster when I stream. I've been using this tablet as my main computer and it is working out greatly. I purchased the C-pen (from TigerDirect because Best Buy did not have it when I purchased my device, and though people have complained they cannot connect the C-Pen, and/or that it isn't compatible, it most certainly is (and it functions wonderfully with this tablet, especially using "Paint 3D".) I use the Samsung Multi-Port Adapter with this tablet and it works flawlessly. I also use a bluetooth mouse as well as the bluetooth C-Pen, and both are wonderful! This PC tablet connects to our 5g wi-fi and stays connected (no dropping) and I truly enjoy the features and the way this tablet works. For me, this is a great tablet, and the screen is certainly a gorgeous display, but I get why this may not be for everyone. For me, though, I enjoy everything about this tablet. I love the keyboard design and the way the tablet stands up and stays put as well as the thinness of the tablet. I like that I can remove the case and keyboard to use in tablet mode. The camera is quite decent and takes pretty nice shots - about what you would expect for this type of device. I preferred this Windows PC 2-in-1 tablet over the Android tablets because it offers more flexibility, in that Windows will be supported longer than Samsung will support a tablet. The speakers seem quite nice but I also pair this up to the Kate Spade in gold portable Bluetooth, which Best Buy sells (and I think is super nice). I am looking into getting a cable to be able to have the option to use this tablet with our Ethernet. Speed on W-Fi has been decent enough for me, overall, though I've experienced Wi-Fi lag from time-to-time. The color gold is quite nice on this model, not shiny, gaudy or brassy. The case is more of a dark camel, which I think is a nice change! As for the SPECS, well, others have already covered those in reviews, and the product description says it best. I've been able to send documents and photo's to print in our wireless printer with great success. I purchased a 4-TB portable hard drive to use with this PC tablet and am quite pleased with how well that's working out. I just have to say that when I travel with my tablet, I have a nice bag to be able to carry my cables, hard drives, and any peripherals I might want to use. (I am currently sewing a case with a drawstring and Velcro closure to keep my C-pen in.) I don't know what else to say, other than how much I enjoy using this PC tablet!

Light, Fast, Reliable and Beautiful!
||Posted .To begin with I have a regular Laptop and desktop, but needed a machine that was tablet first and in a pinch could transition to a laptop second (thus heavy duty not necessary). This is it. First, what a beautiful screen! This super amoled screen is better than all the other tablets I tried and many 2 in 1's. The bezels aren't to big, yet just wide enough hold it in tablet mode. It's an extremely light package and is easy to use as an tablet because it is so. I tried several 2 in 1 detachables (like this screen better) & many 2 in 1 "Yoga" style notebooks. Now although some had more processing power they were still much too unweildly for me to be used in tablet mode. It's got 8 gigs of memory on board so everything just flies along. It feels much faster than an M3. This one also has 256 gigs of storage so I'm not missing the omittance of an sd card slot. The keyboard is actually pretty decent. It just falls right it into place with a strong magnetic connection. It's got decent key travel, but its not backlit. Again I'll only use it on occasion so this is not a deal breaker for me and it's an excellent cover. Samsung Flow (unlocking the unit with your phone, notifications from the phone and such) works as advertised. I like it. Had to get used to the color as gold would not have been my first choice and I did so I'm good now. Only one usb-c port, but I can live with that. I have a usb type c port expander so I'll be okay if I need hdmi out are whatever. I get about 7- 8 hours battery life with normal usage. BTW wifi is very strong. I'm using wifi in areas where others will struggle (also same areas I'd issues with on a 2 in 1 I returned). Speakers are loud and clear. My headphone volume gets much louder than with other laptops and tablets I've owned. Not sure why, but it was a pleasant surprise. Also with little or no distortion (depending on the source). Also I purchased mine on sale for 799.99, but I'm not sure I'd pay 999.99 (original price). Perhaps 899. I'd want a faster processor (at least an m7) though this is fast enough, a backlit keyboard, windows hello and different color options for a 1000.

Great value premium Windows tablet
||Posted .Overall This tablet gives you the flexibility of a tablet with the functionality of a laptop - all at a great price point. Performance This product is aimed at office warriors, not content creators. The Core m3 is a perfectly fine processor for using Office, web browsing, streaming HQ video and light gaming (Civ 5 runs well). For 95% of the population, this is absolutely fine - computers have finally reached a point where performance is generally good enough. The 8 GB RAM allows you to run multiple programs seamlessly so you won't have to constantly reload websites or programs. Content consumption Screen is a highlight. Crisp, deep and sharp, you'll love it. Speakers are sufficient but if you want to crank up the volume, you'll want to invest in great external speakers or headphones. Productivity With the included keyboard, the Tabpro S allows for solid productivity on the road or, more likely, in cafes. Beware that getting used to the keyboard's short travel and bunched keys takes some time, though not overly so. For short burst writing, the keyboard, touchscreen and trackpad are quite pleasant, though if you're writing a new novel at home, you may want to opt to connect to a Bluetooth keyboard. I/O Notice that I said Bluetooth keyboard? That's not a coincidence - this computer comes with only one USB-C port which will likely be occupied by the charger at some point. So unless you like dongle life, you'll be wise to switch to online file management and Bluetooth peripherals. Battery life Everything is a function of the screen. Crank this baby up to 75% brightness on a white screen and you'll probably run out in about 4-5 hours. But the AMOLED screen means that if you run a black background and maybe dial back the brightness a tad, you can get double or near double that. A quick note on charging. Super fast with included charger but not all USB Type-C chargers and cables are the same. So make sure wattage, voltage and amps are compatible if purchasing a second charger. Competitors Surface Pro 4 and 5 cost more if you factor in cost of keyboard (though they do bundle the pen, which Samsung doesn't for this SKU). You'll also have to factor in whether the usefulness of the Surface's kickstand outweighs the reduced lappability due to increased footprint of the device. The new Samsung Galaxy Book is the spiritual successor to this and sports a better keyboard but it's also near double the price - even for the base model. The iPad Pro is not a competitor, it's a tablet not capable of running desktop applications like Windows machines or the MacBook.

Sexy, powerful tablet.
||Posted .Love my new Samsung tablet. It has replaced my laptop. And could easily effectively replace any other pc I use. For every day web surfing and common task, It is what I have been waiting for in terms of shrinking the size of our modern every day computing devices. I can bring this tablet with me anywhere and have my entire personal computing and entertainment world on hand along with full video resolution and connectivity. Sure, the processor in this tablet will not keep up with demanding applications or gaming, but that isn't the point. I can keep several browser tabs open with video and for the most part it runs smooth. That's all I need. The only thing I can wish for on this tablet would be an actual usb and hdmi port versus the usb c port requiring an adapter. But I won't even let that take a star away because for certain applications That is a benefit. I bought a 22" monitor and made a bracket on the back of it to hold this tablet. So I have a sleek all in one pc on my desk which I can simply slide the heart (Samsung Tablet) out of and take with me. I also have a couple extra usb c adapters connected to other screens (bedroom, work, den, etc) so I no longer need multiple devices at different physical access points in my life. One device. Carry with me everywhere, view on any larger screen when necessary. And still have a large enough screen on the device itself to be used on your lap. I could go on about this tablet, but I'll just leave it with...highly recommend.

Q: QuestionIs this a good laptop for a college student?
Asked by JustAskin.
- A:Answer That depends. This is an ultraportable which means you can easily carry it all day but sacrifice some other areas. I would consider this, the gold version, with 8GB RAM and 256GB the minimum. I would not buy the white or black versions with only 128GB as these are not expandable. The battery lasts all day, it's extremely light and easy to carry, runs the same software a standard computer runs so version ingredients and licensing shouldn't be a problem. It's hard to connect to other devices, it has only 1 USB type C port and nothing else so you need an adapter to plug in a CDROM, USB drive, etc. Not that big of issue if you always have a good Internet connection. In the end I bought this because it's incredibly light so it's easy to take everywhere the battery lasts all day, and it's half the price of a similarly equipped MacBook or Surface. But I also have a desktop with two 28" monitors that I can put 6 documents side by side I write the majority of my thesis on. What's important to your student, Having it everywhere and lasting all day then buy this. Having one that mostly sits on a dorm room desk and is easy to connect then buy a more traditional 15" laptop.

Q: QuestionCan I draw and edit photos on here without a problem? Also, I am in grad school and will be doing a lot of research and data analysis, will this work for that?
Asked by Anonymous.
- A:Answer I use this machine daily and I am an engineer. I have the gold edition with 8 gigs of RAM and the 2356 gig SSD. I have seen videos and reviews of the 4 gigs of RAM and 128 gig SSD version having issues running multiple programs at once, performing heavy data analysis and photo editing. The gold edition runs your graphics programs pretty well. I have used AutoCAD and few other programs on it without any issues other than some very minor lag. This machine will handle your research and data analysis with ease; however, it will lag some if you're doing heavy photo editing in programs like Adobe Photoshop.

Q: QuestionDoes this have an active digitizer so I can use a a pen?
Asked by Richgvt.
- A:Answer TabPro Pen is the dedicated pen for this device. (EJ-PW700CBEGUJ) You will need to purchase it separately ($79.99) from this website. This is suitable for all Samsung Galaxy TabPro Sunits. I hope this helps!
