• The device is not exclusive to cell phone carriers. Anyone can use it.

• There is a SIM card slot. In general, Verizon does not use SIM cards is my understanding. I use the tablet without a SIM card as I don't use it for calls, but I don't think it will work with Verizon as us, and a Verizon specific version has not been released yet

• Yes, I have watched my Fios on it but it definately is not optimized like the DirectTV app.
