• No. Essentially a bluetooth/wifi watch. I love mine. I don't have to dig my phone out of my purse to check email or text messages or even answer phone calls. . I also bought the protective glass and watch band online elsewhere. Fun apps and different watch faces to choose from. Love this watch.

• No, you can connect it to your phone through Bluetooth. The watch can also connect to wifi.
